Last month we unveiled Launchpad – a new subscription offering for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) that incorporates a self-guided implementation. Launchpad is a truly accessible and affordable way for small businesses to benefit from the very best Microsoft cloud technology.
The concept of a self-guided implementation for Business Central has raised a few eyebrows, because BC has a bit of a reputation for costly and lengthy implementations. Bam Boom Cloud is on a mission to change that perception. We’ve put years of hard work into innovating the way BC is implemented, stripping it back to the basics of what a small business really needs and offering affordable ways for clients to naturally expand into the system over time.
Launchpad is the culmination of this innovation – making BC a valid option for small businesses looking for an entry-level finance system that will grow with their businesses. But if you’re unsure whether a self-guided implementation is right for your business, read on to learn how it works and understand some of the benefits.
How does a self-guided implementation work?
With Launchpad, when you log into Business Central, under ‘Get Started’ you will see your checklist for completing your new system setup.
The step-by-step configuration will guide you through all the key stages of the implementation process – how to configure your company information, how to import your data and how to post your first transactions. There are training videos available throughout the process (and on-demand) to ensure you’re empowered to use your new system to its full potential.
If you get stuck at any point there is a comprehensive knowledge base available to help resolve common queries. You can also book a call with one of our consultants who can talk you through any issues.
The benefits of a self-guided implementation:
Cost Savings – The number one benefit is the cost savings – Launchpad is over 50% cheaper than our next supported implementation option. And this doesn’t mean a reduction in implementation quality – Bam Boom Cloud has distilled its years of expertise into creating the Launchpad setup wizard and we’re confident it covers everything a small business needs. Launchpad Pricing is available here.
Flexibility – a self-guided implementation gives you complete flexibility in terms of timing and scheduling. Implement BC at your own pace, on your own time – not tied to the implementation and training schedules of external consultants.
Control – own the process and own your system. Investing the time in a self-guided implementation can give you a greater sense of ownership and control over the success of your system.
User Adoption – get the whole team on board and invested in the success of the system. Bam Boom Cloud has developed a completely new knowledge bank of training videos and articles to take you and your team through the ins and outs of BC – these can be used as many times as you need!
Learning Opportunity – A self-guided implementation encourages you to learn more about your new system. Companies that go through the self-guided process tend to have a deeper understanding of BC and its features by the end of the implementation.
Still not sure if self-guided is for you?
We know Launchpad isn’t for everyone. We like to compare Launchpad to flat-pack furniture – you must be up for the challenge and confident in your own ability to be successful, but the extra effort is worth it for the cost savings and flexibility. Launchpad is for the self-starters, the doers – those who like to be in control. Is Launchpad right for you?
But for all the flat-pack fans out there, there are also those who prefer a bit more support for peace of mind. Those who get their friends round to help put their furniture together. We can also be those friends! Bam Boom Cloud also offers two supported implementation options:
- Kickstart – For businesses that only require the BC basics but want more guidance and a supported implementation. Kickstart keeps it simple like Launchpad, but the implementation is led by one of our consultants and following a defined timeline. Kickstart is more expensive than Launchpad, reflecting the fact you get a dedicated consultant rather than going it alone, but the cost can be spread over time if required.
Take the quiz: Is Kickstart right for you? - Packs – Still fixed-price and fixed-scope, packs follow the same method as Launchpad and Kickstart, but are aimed towards the larger end of the small business scale. Packs are for businesses that need a little more functionality from day one. Our BC consultants take you through the standard packs and recommend which ones you need to get started as part of a consultant-led implementation. View more about our packs here.
