Diversity and inclusion.

As a Disability Confident Employer, we strive to create a culture of inclusion to empower everyone.

Diversity and inclusion.

Diversity and inclusion is a huge part of who we are here at Bam Boom Cloud. We strive to create a culture of inclusion to empower everyone – doing everything we can to make sure all of our people can reach their full potential.

It’s eye opening to understand that 1 billion, or 15% of the world’s population experience some form of disability.

As such we have several systems in place to make sure we are as open and flexible a business as possible for both our own teams and people, and for our customers.

Our teams are trained in Microsoft Accessibility, we’re a Disability Confident Employer, and we have a wealth of technology solutions to help with accessibility.

“Being a female, tech CEO means that I can create inclusive products for our customers and at the same time create an inclusive culture within the business. One where people can shine, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, age, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.
We have created a business that feels like a family. We look out for each other, support each other, and never judge. We recognise that we have individual strengths, and, with a deeper level of understanding and love, these strengths can work together for the advantage of everyone.”

Vicky Critchley

As well as being CEO, Vicky Critchley is Bam Boom Cloud’s Head of Diversity and Inclusion.

Women in Dynamics

Bam Boom Cloud are proud to be part of the Women in Dynamics initiative, supported by Directions 4 Partners, to promote diversity and inclusion within the international Dynamics Community. It’s our goal to create more awareness and to ignite a change within the international Microsoft Dynamics community.

As a working Mum, Bam Boom Cloud’s flexible working policy is amazing. It’s the reason I am able to work full time in a job I love, and with opportunities for career progression – something that never felt attainable at previous employers. Home-schooling and Covid have tested flexible working to the limit, but I’ve always felt completely supported and trusted to manage my own time, enabling me to have a great work/life balance. As cheesy as it sounds, it really feels like a family here, and I am empowered to work in a way that fits around my two very small, and infinitely more demanding, bosses!

Hannah BrooksHead of Marketing

As a woman, coming from an African culture, in the past I’ve always been told by others that I needed to tone it down and to fit in with the so called 'norm'. But, with the inclusive culture at Bam Boom Cloud, I feel valued, included and respected for who I am. We have an environment that encourages learning, collaboration, innovation and opportunity - with a pipeline of talented woman and men that give our business a sustainable competitive advantage. I am part of a team that ALWAYS takes a positive and deliberate step in building a more inclusive environment.

Shannon MynhardtClient Success Manager

Having a female CEO has been an incredible breath of fresh air for me. Respect isn’t earned here, it’s given wholeheartedly from day one.
From being welcomed with a hug on my first day, to being shown incredible encouragement to share some of my own struggles with mental health, has made coming to the office feel like coming to my second home.
I’m supported to be myself, which allows me to engage confidently with customers and colleagues alike, to think differently and to be creative. I’m not afraid to say something daft for fear of how I may be perceived, and for every 9 daft things I do say, there’ll be 1 that could make a difference which otherwise would have been stifled. Imagine the power of a whole company looking out for each other.
We support those who are struggling, we praise our accomplishments and we treat each other like family, which couldn’t happen if it didn’t come from the very top.

John DavenportCustomer Engagement Manager

The amazing inclusive culture really helps me overcome a lot of insecurities I have developed in the past. I'm loud, I talk A LOT, and have a lot of energy. My personality is best described as "not for everyone". This used to make me feel really bad about myself. I don't feel that way at Bam Boom Cloud though. I'm still me, but we have an environment that plays on strengths, and celebrates differences as a normal part of business . I can actually get a lot more done feeling really safe and empowered because we are all equal to collaborate with anyone in the organization.

Mary ThompsonHead of Partner Engagement

The forward-thinking inclusive culture at Bam Boom! Cloud, helps bring people out of the shadows, allowing them to fulfil their true potential and realise their true value.

Gareth McKeeCustomer Engagement Manager

I've been with Bam Boom Cloud family for only a month, and things I read about people, messages from Vicky and others, are truly inspirational! All the unconditional kindness and people who naturally care about one another - no matter who you are, where you're from, even my accent....haha! People out there talk about this. But here, at Bam Boom Cloud, we breathe and live it. I've lived and worked in many countries (Estonia, Finland, USA, Canada) over the past 3 decades or so, and I have to say, this is home. Thank you for letting me be part of Bam Boom Cloud.

Microsoft’s Power Apps Accessibility Checker was used in the creation of these 5 apps to create an accessible and inclusive experiences for everyone.

This includes making sure the apps can be navigated using only the keyboard by ensuring the tabindex property is set correctly across the various screens and controls in the app so the tab key will move between them in the correct order. Likewise, the focus on each control has been checked to ensure its visible so that users using keyboard navigation can see which is selected at any time as they move around the app screens.

We have also ensured that the screens within the app are named clearly and logically and that for all controls on a screen, the accessibility label property is completed with helpful text so that visually impaired users will know what is selected at any time.

Microsoft Accessibility Trained

Our teams are trained in Microsoft Accessibility, which allows us to work with our customers who have accessibility needs, and we can train them how to use Windows 10 and O365 features to provide the solutions they need, including things such as:

• Vision – High contrast settings, colour blindness settings, increased font magnification, audio feedback etc.

• Hearing – Closed captions and visual cues for sounds.

With the addition of tools such as Learning Tools, Editor, Text Suggestions, Dictate, Narrator and much more, we can help create the ideal setup for anyone that needs a custom setup to work as effectively as possible.

Our Digital Culture and inclusion policies have put us in the top 20 UK companies to Work for list for 4 years in a row.
