We’re thrilled to announce Bam Boom Cloud was announced as the Winner of the Commitment to People Development Award at the East Midlands Chamber Derbyshire Business Awards, held on Friday 11 November.
This award recognises organisations which demonstrate a firm commitment to people development and the implementation and promotion of a learning and development culture, as well as how employee wellbeing is supported.
Since Bam Boom Cloud launched in 2021, the business has been dedicated to nurturing young talent, promoting from within, supporting apprenticeships and early career development, and creating new opportunities for young people. A key part of this commitment to people development has been the launch of the Bam Boom Academy.
Created in response to one of the main challenges facing the company – the difficulty in recruiting consultants with the right tech-specific experience – Bam Boom Academy is a fast-track, year-long learning and development program created to train the next generation of senior Microsoft Dynamics consultants. Launched in April 2022, the first intake comprised six trainees (5% of Bam Boom Cloud’s UK workforce) and a second intake is planned for early 2023.

With the average age of the first intake at 18, the full cohort is also working towards an IT apprenticeship alongside their academy training. It is a challenging programme, intended for quick learners with drive and determination to build a long-term career in the technology sector.
The Academy schedule blends training with hands-on experience helping clients on Bam Boom Cloud’s support desks. By the end of the program, trainees choose a career path into support, development, account management, sales or consultancy, where they are mentored by senior staff.
Bam Boom Academy demonstrates Bam Boom Cloud’s long-term commitment to opening doors for young people into careers in technology. The Academy not only future-proofs Bam Boom Cloud’s recruitment needs with a steady stream of skilled consultants, but it also trains the next generation of experts and innovators.
